IV therapy can be an effective treatment for many different conditions and may help your patients to feel their best. IV therapy is also an effective and convenient way for people with busy lifestyles to ensure they are getting a sufficient supply of essential vitamins and minerals. One of the most popular forms of IV therapy is the Myer’s Cocktail.
What is a Myers’ Cocktail?
The “Gold Standard” for delivering intravenous vitamins and minerals directly to your bloodstream. In the 1960s, an internist named Dr. John Myers proposed that a mixture of key nutritional supplements might be given intravenously to improve performance, even though the vitamins and minerals had been available in intravenous form for years.
The Myers cocktail is one type of IV therapy that has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of conditions. The Myers Cocktail can also be used as a base component in IV therapies and drip treatments.
The Myers’ Cocktail may help with:
- Immunity Boosting
- Preventative therapy for cold + flu season
- Reducing fatigue
- Sports Performance
- Hangover remedy
- Provides hydration
What is in a Myers’ Cocktail?
A Myer’s Cocktail contains a combination of vitamins and minerals that are commonly used to treat conditions such as fatigue, migraines, and fibromyalgia.
- Minerals: Magnesium Chloride & Calcium Gluconate
- B-Vitamins: B1 (Thiamine), B2 (Riboflavin), B3 (Niacinamide), B5 (Dexpanthenol), B6 (Pyridoxine), B12 (Hydroxocobalamin)
- Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)
Magnesium & Calcium are important for muscle and nerve function, and are often given together due to their synergistic benefits. Magnesium can help reduce fatigue, improve the immune system, help muscles relax, and more.
B vitamins are important for bodily wellness as they assist with metabolism and help your body convert food and energy. Vitamin B12 helps promotes healthy functions of the brain, blood cells, and nerves.
Vitamin C is an important antioxidant and can protect against cellular damage from free radical oxygen molecules.
Who Should Get A Myers’ Cocktail?
Myers’ Cocktail infusions can be beneficial for just about anyone. As mentioned above, the ingredients found in a Myer’s cocktail help support overall health and can have results even for patients without nutrient deficiencies.
F.A.Q. about Myers’ Cocktail:
Q. Can I use Myer’s Cocktail IM (Intramuscular) ?
A. Our 10ml vials are meant to be a single-dose given IV. It is possible to use it IM but the patient will not get the full benefits unless all 10mls are used, which is very difficult to do IM.
To use IV, draw the full 10mls from the vial and inject into a NS IV bag.
